Merino portfolio company Tobar has acquired a children’s educational specialist, Kit for Kids, out of administration.
The Sevenoaks-based company has several major clients in the education sector and is regarded as the market leader in a number of categories. It will provide a platform for Tobar to build a dedicated education division focused on developing products for the school environment. The company is best known for its range of educational carpets and also supplies soft play and furniture to schools and nurseries.
David Mordecai, CEO of Tobar, said: “This is a great opportunity for Tobar to expand into the education market and is a natural progression for us. Our first task will be to ensure that Kit for Kids is in the best condition to continue to supply and support their core customers with the products they want.
“Eventually, we will be able to extend its product line to include Tobar products and also create smaller versions of its existing range to appeal to our customers. I see Kit for Kids as our new Education Division.”
Tobar is on the lookout for further acquisitions, and if you are aware of any opportunities please get in touch with Jack Kinnersley (email@example.com).
